Deeana Michela is a Melbourne-based designer with a multi-disciplinary practice
that incorporates contemporary jewellery and object making and spatial design.
She completed a Bachelor of Interior Design (1st Class Honours) at RMIT in 2015 and previously
completed an Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology – Jewellery at NMIT in 2009.

Fascinated by the relationships and connections we form with objects, she draws
inspiration from nature and the landscape, geometry, form, colour and texture to
create handmade wearable pieces that explore these themes and are rich in narrative.

Deeana has embarked on an exploration into adornment of various temporalities in
both a spatial and wearable context through the use of material, form, light and
surface. She is interested in creating environments that cause people to shift how
they interact with their surroundings as a way of actuating connection.
